Festival of the Wind
A bit of a wet day at The Festival of the Wind at Emu Park on Sunday April 7. A few of us turned up for the outing despite the weather. The wind certainly kept up and lots of colourful kites were launched. It showered on and off but the lighting wasn't too dark.
The Club outing to The Causeway for the rise of the Super moon was a great success. With tripods and big lenses everywhere. We also saw Rockhampton Photography Club come along and join us for the event. Great shots taken by members. This one is from Fran.
Painting with Light
Guest speaker,Brian McCourt showed us how to do amazing things with simple objects and light, at the last practical meeting in June. We all learnt a great deal.and a great turn out of members. We all had a lot of fun trying out what we had learnt, with guidance from Brian. I am expecting to see some interesting stuff on our Facebook page in the months to come.
Low Key Lighting
A presentation by Tony Ward on Astro Photography and the set up at his observatory out at Woodbury, A planned outing to his observatory the following Friday was organised. ABC Open journalist Lisa Clark popped in to meet us. We used Lisa as one of our models for a portrait session on low key lighting. A great evening had by all.
A number of members turned up for the Campdraft outing at Paradise Lagoons. It was foggy up to almost 11.00am. We all had a great time and got some interesting shots not only of the riders and spectators, but the other exhibits around the place.
Film Noir Outing
A fantastic fun night at Pauline's place for Film Noir. A big thank you to our two models for the night Cara and Justin. They both got into the part and had a great time. Members soon got the hang of shooting hand held in the dark. They have taken some really grat shots.
